Corinne Bailey Rae

Hailing from Leeds, West Yorkshire, this singer-songwriter and guitarist’s self-titled debut album Corinne Bailey Rae, debuted at number one, making her only the fourth female British act to top the charts with her first album.

Rae topped BBC’s annual Sound Of… poll in 2006 and was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and won two MOBO Awards in 2007. She won a Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Jazz Album for her work on Herbie Hancock’s River: The Joni Letters in 2008. She won her third Grammy Award in 2012 for Best R&B Performance for her cover of Bob Marley and The Wailers’ “Is This Love”.

Rae released her second studio album The Sea in 2010.

Her music has been featured in several films and television shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, 27 Dresses, Medium, and He’s Just Not That Into You.
